Lexi L. Slome has been researching courtroom discourse for five years, and now she is bringing her expertise and research skills to the field of trial consulting. She completed her Ph.D. in linguistics at Georgetown University, where she specialized in forensic linguistics (language and law), studying how exactly language is used to tell compelling stories in trials. Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in linguistics and psychology.
As an associate trial consultant, Lexi is involved in facilitating and reviewing research groups, assisting with project reports, and helping with jury selections. She uses her research skills and understanding of language use and storytelling to help the team provide data-driven insights in every case.
Lexi has presented her research on trial narratives to both academics and trial consultants at the annual conference of the American Association for Applied Linguistics as part of their new language and law strand. Additionally, she has taught courses in forensic linguistics for students pursuing masters’ degrees in criminal justice at Pennsylvania Western University.
I joined Taylor Trial Consulting to put my understanding of language use, social behavior, and storytelling to work. I love to combine detailed analysis and big-picture problem-solving to provide helpful recommendations based on real data. I bring curiosity, focus, and analytical rigor to every project I work on.
